Hi Parents, I wanted to reach out to let you know that we have a fun opportunity coming up! All year the students have been working on ST Math during class in hopes of completing their journey. We already have over 200 students who have reached 100%! By reaching 100% that means that these students will be able to go to the ST Math Celebration in May. I wanted to let you know about this so that you can be talking with your student(s) to see where they are at so they don’t miss this opportunity. If you have any questions, please contact me at akeipert@birchrunschools.org. Thank you, Miss Keipert Instructional Math Coach

A 60 degree day in February makes for a great day to work in a pollinator garden. Third grade students will be continuing to create the pollinator garden that was started by Miss Hoffman's class last year. This week students took advantage of the beautiful weather and walked to the pollinator garden to work on cleaning up twigs and debris that found its way into the garden over the winter months. With spring right round the corner Miss Hoffman's students will soon be planting and continuing to maintain the garden.

Today was ice cream day in Mrs. Smith's first grade class. Students learned how to politely order ice cream, pay, and tip! Students also worked on sight word reading/spelling with ice cream scoops, made digital graphs, did some drawing, learned the science and history of ice cream and of course ate ice cream! These first graders got to make ice cream and ended their day with ice cream sandwiches!
