About Early College

A Birch Run High School and Mott Community College Partnership

We are very excited to announce a unique partnership between Birch Run High School and Mott Community College. The program will offer students the opportunity to earn Associate's Degree while getting their high school diploma. Students may earn up to two years of transferable college credit.

How the program works

A small cohort of students will attend college and high school classes together for a total of three academic years. These students will enroll in AP courses as well as college courses. They will attend their college classes in the renovated South Building at Birch Run High School.

The students will walk in graduation after their fourth year of high school, but will not receive their diploma until they have completed the program, which requires one additional year of classes.

Upon completing the program, the students will have their high school diploma and an Associate’s degree from Mott Community College, one of the nation’s leading community colleges.

Our goal

Every student who enters the five-year program will graduate from Birch Run High School with a high school diploma and a Mott Community College Associate's Degree.

Our philosophy

K-12 education is not enough in today's highly competitive world. The Early College program will bridge the gap between students who are capable of getting a degree and those who actually obtain one.
